The Future of Work is NonBinary

The Future of Work is Non-Binary. What do we mean by that? Elena Joy Thurston, DEI consultant, and LGBTQ+ advocate, stops by the Jess Get Hired Podcast to talk about making the workplace more inclusive.

DEI is a hot topic for organizations, especially with the war for talent. It's not just about checking off boxes! As a CHRO or HR Leader, how are you ensuring diversity success?

Here are a few ideas:

❤️: Make sure your recruitment and onboarding processes include a zero-tolerance for intolerance! Protect gender identity/expression.

🧡: Avoid perpetuating gender stereotypes in your application process or policy/procedures

💛: Employee privacy is essential

💚: Implement sensitivity training or diversity awareness initiatives

💙: Reduce the burden for transitioning employees and find ways to help with redundant paperwork

💜: Encourage the use of the proper pronouns and names

🖤: Establish bathroom and locker room access (check out Elena's comment about this one!)

🤍: Look at insurance policies and health benefits - do they accommodate various individual and family situations?

🤎: Recruit and attract talent from all communities, especially the unprotected and underrepresented!
